How to get your fitness motivation back

Fitness is so beneficial to not only the body, but the mind as well! A lot of the time people have a few weeks break off and struggle to get back into the healthy routines they had created. So here’s 3 easy tips to get back to feeling your fittest and best yet!

1 – JUST DO IT

In the famous words of Nike – sometimes you literally just need to get it done those first few sessions back. It’s time to call yourself out on the excuses you’ve been giving yourself! ‘I don’t have the time, it’s too hard, it’s too hot / too cold.’ sitting in a negative mindset isn’t going to get you any closer to your fitness goals!

2 – GET CLEAR ON YOUR WHY

For any of our goals, fitness or otherwise, you can fall off the wagon if you’re not connected enough to it. The goal is too superficial, it seems like a good idea but you’re not really sure on why or what this goal is going to bring into your life. Sit down with a pen and paper and write your goal at the top of the page. Then as yourself ‘why do I want this?’ and write out the answer. Now ask yourself why again. And another why. 
Now, you should be getting closer to the real reason why you ACTUALLY want to be achieving this fitness goal…and realising that it’s not just about how you’re going to look in the mirror!!
Another question you can ask yourself is ‘What will this goal bring me? How will I feel when I have achieved it?’

3 – MOVE YOUR BODY IN A WAY THAT YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO

It’s too often these days that we do things just because we feel like we ‘have to’. So what if you’ve done the same yoga class every Monday night for 3 years!? Do you actually enjoy it?
Do you like the gym you go to? Would you prefer to be going for a walk along the beach instead?

By giving yourself the option and thinking about what you actually want to do and how you feel like moving your body that day you open your mind up to realising that your opinion and what you want really matters. You realise that you are a priority and that’s so much more motivating than just dragging yourself off to a gym session because you ‘have to’!
